Visiting interior of Phoenix Hall (Hou-ou-do) 9:30-16:10(every 20 minutes / max 50 people per visit)
Byodoin Temple Museum “Hoshokan” 9:00-17:00 (last entry: 16:45)
Museum Shop 9:00-17:00
Tea Room “Sabo Toka” 10:00-16:30 (last order: 16:00)
  • Please note that the reception might be closed earlier if the number of visitors who wish to enter the interior of Phoenix Hall has already reached the maximum number.

  • The interior of Phoenix Hall may be closed without notice due to special ceremonies and events.

Admission Fee

Garden and Byodoin Temple Museum “Hoshokan”

Adults ¥700 ¥600
Junior High & High School Students ¥400 ¥300
Elementary School Students ¥300 ¥200
  • A physically challenged person and one accompanying person can enter the temple for half the regular price.
  • A separate admission fee is not available for entering the garden only.
  • Visitors who have the School Excursion Passport (published by the Kyoto City Tourism Association) can receive a discount on the admission fee.

Visiting the interior of Phoenix Hall

Byodoin Temple kindly asks every visitor to pay 300 yen as an admission fee to the interior of Phoenix Hall.
Tickets for visiting the interior of Phoenix Hall are available at the reception in the garden. A maximum of 50 people can enter the interior every 20 minutes.
